According to the Washington State Patrol, the fatal collision occurred at approximately 4:35 p.m. near North Evergreen Road in Spokane Valley. Preliminary findings indicate that Corey was riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle eastbound on State Route 290 when a GMC Sierra pickup truck, also traveling eastbound, briefly veered onto the right shoulder of the roadway.
Investigators reported that the pickup truck subsequently re-entered the eastbound lanes and collided with Corey’s motorcycle. The impact caused both vehicles to cross into the westbound lanes before coming to rest on the westbound shoulder. During the collision, Corey was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the shoulder.
Despite the swift response of emergency personnel, Corey S. Wren succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified only as a 23-year-old Spokane man, was transported to a local hospital after experiencing what authorities described as a medical emergency. Investigators continue to examine whether the medical episode contributed to the collision.
